Bucket

V delights me more and more every day. She is my little chatter box at home and talks all day long. I love it. She loves helping out around the house. She loves to take the dirty clothes hamper and empty it into the dryer for me. I brag that my 2 year old already does laundry for her momma! She also loves to sweep for me, and is always sure to wipe off the table after she eats. Matthew has been asking me to get the book, "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" for her for awhile now because it is SO Verity. She will ask for a cookie, and then ask for milk, then when you give her milk she asks for a "towely." When she asks for a book, she has to have a blanket with that, and then her purple with that. She is a child of ritual for sure. She sleeps with 4 different dolls, a Teddy and Edgar Dog, and 6 different blankets. If any of those 12 loveys are missing, she knows exactly which one is and will not sleep until it is found. I think she is gonna make a great mommy of a large family someday. :) She loves all 12 equally and knows exactly where each one is at all times. She also loves books, and has her favorite ones memorized. She now reads them to Rooney, which is the cutest thing to watch. She also has the sweetest heart. She hears G cry and she runs to give her a toy. If G still is crying, she will run and give her another one, and another, and another until she stops. She is a Papa's girl. Every night we kneel down for bedtime prayers and I tell the girls to pick something to thank Jesus for that day. Every night V yells, "PAPA!!" and then Rooney always yells, "Dada!!" She loves to talk on the phone and say, "Love you!" to whoever I am talking to. Last night I was one the phone with a saleslady and V came up to me and said, "say love you Grandma." I told her that it wasn't grandma on the phone, it was a salesperson. She goes, "Say love you salesperson!"

One of our favorite "games" to play is when I go,"Hawthorne, I just can't stand it any longer. I cannot STAND how stinkin' cute you are! I can't STAND how much I love you! I have to eat you up RIGHT NOW!" She squeals and runs and finds a place to hide, then yells from her hiding place, "Mommy never find us!!" After I find her I smother her with kisses, then she asks for more and we do it all over again.

She calls herself, "Verity Vleck" from "The Sleep Book" that Daddy reads her. I was putting a hat on G this morning and she goes, "No! That one is Verity Vleck's hat!"

Roon

Let's see...we've been calling her Gethey more since V without fail calls her by her full name throughout the day. She has been fussier than normal this past week because of the teething, poor baby. She will actually let me just sit and hold her, which has been a rarity since she could crawl, so I've been enjoying that part. She has the sweetest heart. She will come up to me whenever she sees me and hug and kiss my leg or arm or face multiple times. She loves "Doll Doll"s and "Dog Dog"s above all else. She will sit and cuddle and kiss her stuffed dogs and dolls over and over again. She is talking up a storm. She says "dancing" when she bounces, "keys," "kiss" and "hug." She loves to eat and still has not disliked anything we've given her! Its unbelievable. She is the happiest, most self-entertaining baby...until you tell her no. Then its the most blood curdling scream you have ever heard with angry tears streaming down her bright red face. Still loves her nukie, she would have it in her mouth all day if I let her. I've weaned her down to just sleepy times for now though. LOVES books. She wants nothing to do with baby books, just the paper ones. A few days ago she was going through the new library books and discovered what fun ripping the pages in half was. She and Bucket will play together at the play kitchen set in V's room, which has been really cute to watch. She crawls after V like a little lamb throughout the house. V expects it now, and if Rooney isn't right behind her she will yell, "Gethsemane Juniper ANNE! Come WITH me!" As you can tell by photos, she has the most kissable face imaginable. Its pretty much impossible NOT to smother her with kisses on sight.

Reading "Someday"

"One day I counted your fingers and kissed each one..."

"One day we crossed the street and you held my hand tight..."

"Someday I will watch you brushing your child's hair..." (I wonder...will you have to bribe her with Reese's M'M's and Sesame Street too?)

Look at that Face

Gethey Roon was just trying to open a cabinet in the kitchen. I called out, "Rooney, what do you think you are doing?" She goes, "Uh oh!" I guess we have a new word.
