Family BBQ

Best attempt at family photo...

Bucket makes a mean mud pie...

Nama can get Bucket to eat anything, even a hamburger when she'd rather have fishy crackers...

And then they eat fishy crackers...

Auntie Mieke is the best...

Best Friends

Daddy's Hat

Watching the VolleyBall Game

The day before she really took off walking she did a lot of this monkey crawl.

"Hi, Daddy!"

(Rolling across the room, tantrum, stage two.)

Soooo...Gethsemane Juniper Anne is now walking. And talking. All weekend as she walked to and fro around the house, Matt and I kept looking at each other and asking, "so when are we going to say that she is walking???" Well, she is. She still falls often, but she always starts going anywhere walking and then only crawls if she falls on the way there. The big change came because of her tutu obsession. The other day she opened the tutu drawer (yes, we have a drawer just for all the tutus) pulled out the pink one, held it up to me and said, "wear." EVERY DAY she wants to wear a tutu. EVERY DAY. Yesterday she was inconsolable because she was wearing the purple one and she, um, exploded, all over it. Meanest. Mommy. Ever. took it off her and put it in the washer. The orange tutu is apparently second best. I don't know if that is because orange is less girly than purple or because it doesn't puff out as much as the purple one does. But I digress. So she has to wear tutus, but I noticed that it is very difficult for her to crawl in them. She keeps tripping over the tutu. So she started standing up and walking because it was easier for her while wearing her tutu, and now she just hasn't gone back!

She is also talking up a storm. I could go through all the words she says, but, this post would get too long. She said, "Yummy lasagna!" at dinner the other night, "Thank you, daddy!" "Mama, Baaa!" if she wants something from me and she wants to kiss me to soften me up before asking. She repeats what Verity says left and right.

The attitude coming out of this girl...I swear. Little Miss Drama QUEEN. She was mad at Daddy the other night for putting the ice cream away, and she literally turned her back on him and walked away. She didn't speak to him for the rest of the night. Every time he tried talking to her she would stick up her nose and look away. If he puts her down when she wants to be held, she throws a royal tantrum like none other, complete with rolling back and forth from one end of the room to the other, with feet pounding. I try not to laugh, but its hard. I took a picture the other day it was so funny. (See above) Now that I think about it, that PROBABLY sent the wrong message to her...
